What Can a Sewer Inspection Camera Detect?

Sewer inspection cameras are a game-changer when it comes to plumbing diagnostics. With our cutting-edge technology, we can detect a wide range of issues within your sewer lines, ensuring your plumbing system operates at its best. Here are some of the key problems and details that a sewer camera can uncover:
  • Blockages: Sewer cameras can pinpoint the exact location and nature of blockages, whether it’s due to tree roots, debris buildup, or other obstructions.
  • Cracks and Breaks: Detecting cracks and breaks in your sewer lines is crucial to preventing leaks and costly water damage. Our cameras can identify these issues with precision.
  • Pipe Material: Sewer cameras can determine the type of material your pipes are made of, which is essential for understanding their durability and potential issues.
  • Corrosion: Over time, pipes can corrode, leading to structural problems. Our inspections can reveal signs of corrosion, helping you plan for necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Bellies and Sags: Sewer lines should have a consistent slope for proper drainage. Our cameras can identify bellies and sags, which can lead to pooling water and blockages.
  • Joint Problems: Damaged or misaligned pipe joints are a common issue. Sewer cameras can detect these problems and guide our plumbers in the repair process.
  • Infiltration and Extrusion: Detecting infiltration (unwanted groundwater entering the sewer) and extrusion (sewer material protruding into the pipe) is vital to maintaining the integrity of your plumbing system.
By utilizing sewer camera inspection, we ensure that no issue within your sewer lines goes unnoticed. This comprehensive approach to plumbing diagnostics allows us to give an accurate diagnosis for your plumbing issues.

The Major Instances When to Schedule a Sewer Camera Inspection

Don’t leave your sewer lines to chance; let us bring clarity and peace of mind to your plumbing with our state-of-the-art inspections. Here are some instances when it is important to have your pipes inspected:
  • When Buying a New Home: Before making one of the biggest investments of your life, it’s crucial to ensure that the property’s sewer lines are in good condition. A sewer camera inspection can reveal any hidden issues, saving you from unexpected and costly repairs after the purchase.
  • Persistent Blockages: If you’re experiencing frequent drain clogs or backups, it may indicate a more extensive problem within your sewer lines. A sewer camera inspection can pinpoint the exact location and cause of these blockages, allowing for targeted repairs.
  • Foul Odors and Slow Drains: Unpleasant sewer odors in your home or slow drains throughout your property are indicators of potential sewer line problems. Using a sewer camera, plumbers can identify the source of these issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Tree Root Intrusions: Tree roots are a common cause of sewer line damage. If you have large trees near your sewer lines, their roots may infiltrate the pipes, causing blockages and cracks. A sewer camera inspection can reveal the extent of root intrusions and guide necessary repairs.
  • Aging Sewer System: If your property has an older sewer system, it may be more susceptible to wear and deterioration. Routine sewer camera inspections can help assess the condition of aging pipes and allow for proactive maintenance or replacement.
  • Sewer Line Repairs or Replacements: If you’ve had previous sewer line repairs or replacements, a sewer camera inspection can verify the quality of the work and ensure that everything is functioning correctly. It provides peace of mind that the issue has been effectively resolved.
By identifying these instances when a sewer camera inspection is essential, you can take proactive steps to maintain your plumbing system’s health and avoid potential problems down the road.

Joe went above and beyond to help my family locate, fix and remediate a plumbing leak. He was extremely honest and fair. He explained to me in layman’s terms exactly what and why each step needed to be done. It’s taken me 20 years to find a great plumber and now I have one I would use many times.

Had a water service main leak. Joe Mabrey responded quickly and determine the cause was in the irrigation system. He found the three solenoid valves and identified a faulty gasket in one. He replaced the gasket and then provided a low profile box to contain all three valves. Left the site as he found it and made sure that I had documentation to approach the Canton Water department to seek relief for the larger than usual water bills. He is now our 1st plumber to call!

Leak from frig—water going under kitchen floor, etc. Called Joe Mabrey Friday Morning; as soon as he finished job, would come by and at least turn off water. Did exactly as promised. Came back next morning, found water leak, fixed, cleaned out dust buildup with compressor. Another very good job by Mr Mabrey. Because of fast and experienced service, will probably not have damage costs.
